I am in Cape Town, South Africa for a couple of days as I prepare to board the ship, and to depart from the city and meet local people, musicians, and flute makers. While I am in this beautiful city, I will make sure to see some of the highlights.
The Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art is amazing. It is a unique building created from the monumental structure of the historic Grain Silo Complex. The art that is displayed there was created by contemporary African artists, with profound themes and exquisite beauty. I saw a lot of powerful artworks making powerful statements.
It looked like it might rain all day, but it didn’t, unfortunately. They urgently need rain here.
It is an interesting time to be in South Africa.
